Independent Medical Education (IME) Grants
- CME or Non-CME Educational Programs: Scientific-based education for healthcare professionals which may be accredited/certified (e.g., eligible for continuing education credit from a professional licensing or specialty board, accredited by an independent board such as Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) in the U.S.), or non-accredited. Programs may be international, national, local and live or enduring (web-based, print). Accredited and non-accredited events may also include innovative approaches to combined education for both clinician and patient learners.
- Quality Improvement Education: Independent education-based research activities in the U.S. where the education is independently developed and deployed within a health system to address a specific and documented quality gap, measure, or indicator. Such programs do not focus on individual HCP gaps but rather health-system clinical team-based gaps, improvements in care coordination, or team-based approaches to optimize patient care.
- Patient Education: Sole patient education summits or related events.
Grants for Scientific Advancement
- Closed Scientific Events: Independently-led, closed (invite-only) meetings to address a targeted scientific/medical topic with broad representation of contributors representing various stakeholders.
- Fellowships: Research and training programs to support academic development of independently selected HCPs, scientists, or graduate or postgraduate students, typically targeted to preclinical, translational medicine or research-focused work.
- Third Party Investigator/Research/Career Development Awards
